US Domestic Trucking is developed to give team members a clear understanding of how freight transportation is managed across the United States. This course covers the main steps involved in moving shipments by road, including load planning, carrier booking, dispatch coordination, delivery scheduling, and shipment updates. It helps logistics and operations teams understand the practical requirements of domestic trucking and communicate more effectively with carriers, warehouses, and customers. In this practical course, you’ll learn how to:  

  • Understand Freight Movement in the US: Learn how domestic freight travels between warehouses, distribution centers, retailers, and customer locations across different states. 

  • Learn Trucking Service Types: Understand common trucking options such as FTL, LTL, local delivery, long-haul transportation, and scheduled freight movement. 

  • Manage Load Planning: Learn how shipment size, weight, pickup location, delivery location, appointment timing, and product type affect trucking arrangements. 

  • Review Key Shipping Details: Understand the importance of load numbers, pallet counts, case counts, consignee details, delivery windows, and special handling instructions. 

  • Monitor Delays & Exceptions: Learn how to handle common trucking issues such as late pickup, delivery rescheduling, missed appointments, damaged goods, and accessorial charges.
